NM Escape Room Team Bonding

Team Bonding

I’ve discussed team building, but team bonding is probably more closely in line with what groups typically experience when they attend a work related event at NM Escape Room. Though we do offer team building extras for those groups who are looking to identify areas where their team dynamic needs improvement, but teams also need to just get away and have a good time.    When a work group comes to just have some fun and let off some steam, the ultimate goal is a good time, but the great thing is they are making memories together to look back on.  That is where the bonding […]

Nefertari's Tomb NM Escape Room

Nefertari’s Tomb

You voted, and now it’s here! We have spent months hammering, drilling, cutting, painting, foam carving, more painting, wiring, hammering, sawing, did I say painting… oh, and more wiring to get this scenario to look and feel like an Egyptian tomb.    Our build team consisted of 6 to 8 staff members, all of whom put their sweat and tears into making this dream become a reality. They all had a hand in bringing Nefertari’s Tomb to life and in my opinion they did an amazing job.   The tomb is over 600 sq.ft and it consists of 3 main puzzle path chambers and a few […]

NM Escape Room's New Location

New Location!

We are expanding in order to bring you newer and bigger escape games! We have already begun renovations of our new location near Jefferson and I-25. The facility will be able to house up to 6 scenarios, a conference room, and a spacious lobby / meeting area. We hope to open doors to the public in June 2017.    Initially we will offer just one scenario, Nefertari’s Tomb, but hope to have a second scenario operating at the new facility by late Fall. We plan to keep the Carlisle facility running for at least  the next few years. This means that by the end of 2017, we will have […]

NM Escape Room Staff

Our Creative Team

We have such an artistic staff at NM Escape Room! We employ a seamstress and cosplayer, an actor, a sketch artist, a clown, and another artist who also happens to cosplay. I wanted to highlight New Mexico’s local talent who also happen to have day jobs at your friendly, neighborhood escape room!   Kailah Case aka Case Creative Arts – a local artist who recently graduated from UNM. She paints, sketches, foam carves, and fabricates her costumes and accessories for her cosplay. She does it all, and was especially instrumental in bringing Nefertari’s Tomb to life!    Nicholas Wineman aka Stu Pickles- not local to NM, […]

NM Escape Room Halloween

Haunted Attraction and Escape Game Trade Show

This month NM Escape Room had the opportunity to attend the Haunted House Association Trade Show in St. Louis, MO.This is and has been the biggest haunted attraction trade show in the U.S. for the past 20 or so years, and now it has taken on the escape game industry. It’s a one stop shop of sorts where vendors, designers, instructors, enthusiasts, and customers can mingle and commerce.    Three members of our NM Escape Room team attended the show and a few seminars to learn and bring back new knowledge and skills to help improve what we bring to the community here in the […]

NM Escape Room and Technology

Technology vs. Lock and Key

There are many, many escape rooms popping up all over the world offering a variety of themes, game play styles, and puzzles. Your traditional – ha, have they really been around long enough to justify the description, traditional?- escape games are largely lock and key based, where clues are hidden or locked up with a combination or key lock of some sort and the players must find the codes to unlock them in order to progress in the game. The theming or settings in these games vary slightly, but are largely an office setting with little immersion factor. That said, these games […]

NM Escape Room - The Family Jewels

New Year, New Room!

Sadly, we have decided to retire our Unpublished scenario. It had a good run for a full year. This will make a great deal of folks sad, but that one guy who yelled, “It Sucked!” upon not beating the room will be quite pleased to see it go.    On a happier note, we have a new scenario designed to take its place! We hope to have the build completed by the end of January 2017. This room will include a bit more tech than our other scenarios, but will still offer the challenging puzzles and thematic setting and back story that our fans […]

NM Escape Room Famiiy Game Night

Family Game Night 2.0

One of the coolest things we get to witness is families reuniting at our NM Escape Room during the holidays. We see all generations of one family come together to play a game. It is reminiscent of the family board game nights that were popular when I was growing up. I know that families still practice this ritual of fun and togetherness, but in addition to that, they are now playing escape room games. It always warms our hearts to see the grandmother so encouraging and proud of her grand child as he/she puzzles through the escape room game. And to see grandpa directing […]

Teambuilding NM Escape Room

Team Building at NM Escape Room

Team building opportunities: something we planned to offer from the inception of this company, but the response has been positively overwhelming! We knew we would need to get the word out about us and this new opportunity for team building in our city, but we weren’t aware of just how great the need was and is for this type of team building. The New Mexico Escape Room is one of the few, local facilities where teams actually have to work together to complete the tasks and puzzles and accomplish a successful room escape (while being locked in a room together, AND within […]

NM Escape Room Halloween

Halloween at the Escape Room! No place better!

It’s beginning to get a bit spooky around here! The New Mexico Escape Room’s Cabin scenario-room is the perfect excuse to get the seasonal fright out of your system. This scenario has that creepy, dark feel and also induces some blood curdling screams along the way. On top of the creep factor, the game itself tells the story of the notorious serial killer who goes by the pseudonym, Simon Says. Small pieces of his disturbed life are revealed as you unravel the mystery and unlock his dark secrets. He’s taunted you with a message boasting a latest victim who is […]

Back to School NM Escape Room

Back to school! Ugh!

Back to school season is here! Ugh! My kiddos are almost grown, but the back to school season still reminds me of a stressful time. The hustle and bustle begins again with school supplies and clothes shopping, fees for this and that, sports tryouts, and just getting back into the Fall schedule amongst other things… it’s just a busy time. Amidst all this back to school business, we do see an increase in college-aged students and their families attending NM Escape Room. It’s usually a last attempt at some family fun before they return to their colleges and universities most […]

NM Escape Room Family Night

Family fun at the NM Escape Room!

Have you ever thought about planning a family outing for your family at the New Mexico Escape Room? Well, before you do, we’d like to share some thoughts…. especially for any ultra-competitive families out there! 😉 When spending an hour locked in a room together, it’s safe to say, that your inner-family dynamics have a lovely way of escaping. If you family is a laugh-loving family, oh dear goodness! Be prepared for laughter galore! If your family is a family that normally argues about everything, then it’s likely you will probably argue about everything in the escape room. Or, maybe you’re […]
